What a wonderfully joyous wedding Kristen and Joe had at The Chapel at Canterbury School! Kristen wanted a boho-chic look, and wow did she get it! Check out her gorgeous dress and the details from the reception. What an elegant mix of bohemian and glamour.
And we were moved to tears from her note after she received her photos:
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joe and I just got back from our honeymoon yesterday, and so we just now had a chance to sit down together and look at the photos. My goodness, these are all so incredibly beautiful! Some of them are like magazine worthy! Thank you so much for everything you did for us… not only for the photos but for all the crazy running around all over downtown and for playing along with our madness and taking so many impromptu “unprofessional” photos for us in the moment. We had so much FUN with you and really are so, so impressed with the photos. It was so worth it.
Something actually hit me on the airplane to Greece, which is that I have never actually worked with anyone as professional as yourself before. As a creative person, I usually end up doing most things myself, and out of financial necessity when I need others to do things - especially like if I need photos - I have always done everything on the cheap or just asked friends to do stuff (even if they don’t know what they are doing in which case I try to explain how to do it while they are doing it, e.g., “here’s my camera just take a bunch of photos and maybe you’ll get a few good ones by accident but make sure you get that thing in the background” etc). It was only because of the generosity of both sides of our families that for our wedding I was able for the first time in my life to hire people who really knew what they were doing, and it was so worth it to experience that!! To invest in professionals for those key areas that I knew we needed people we could trust: photos, makeup, and flowers, and to see how much that paid off!! However what occurred to me on the plane was how hilarious and at times annoying I must’ve been to work with me micromanaging something I actually know nothing about. I was laughing hysterically at myself thinking back to all the moments throughout the day where I was like asking you if you got the church in the background, or if you had gotten a photo of the cake… and you were so gracious and hysterical about it - like “Oh yeah, good idea! I hadn’t thought of that! This is my first wedding!” :-)
Anyway, thank you for your graciousness, your sense of humor, and for going along with all our crazy ideas. Thank you for showing me what it’s like to invest in people who know what they are doing and learning how to let go and trust the process. That was a good learning experience for me.
Again, the photos are absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. You captured the whole day in so many ways and gave us so many important memories to hold on to. It was a very deeply spiritual experience for Joe and I to go though them. We were literally in tears.
